New Group Launches Website
Promises Thoughtful Discussion on Earnings Tax Vote
(Kansas City) A new group today unveiled its website and promised a thoughtful discussion about the upcoming earnings tax vote. www.kctaxreform.com will be center of discussion for Kansas Citians to learn about and discuss the earnings tax.
“We want to have a thoughtful discussion about the earnings tax and its effect on Kansas City,” said Woody Cozad, the spokesman for FreedomPAC. “The people in Kansas City have a choice.”
From now until April 5th, Kansas City Tax Reform intends to have a dialogue with Kansas City voters about the effects of the earnings tax. Kansas Citians will hear both sides of the issue in a constructive discussion and then choose.
The E-tax has had an impact on jobs in Kansas City. Last year, Wyandotte County was the 11th best County in the nation for job creation, while Jackson County lost jobs. While other regional cities without an earnings tax, like Omaha and Oklahoma City are thriving; Kansas City lost 13,900 jobs.
In November, 52 percent of Kansas Citians voted to have an election on whether or not to keep the earnings tax.
