Google bombing is a term that describes attempts to adjust the order of results in popular search engines. The implications for political campaigns are obvious: candidates want more positive than negative information about themselves when they plugs their names into Google.
When a candidate accidentally posts negative information about himself, sometimes Google will help things along a bit - and the candidate ends up google bombing himself.
That's what the Charlie Dooley did, when his campaign posted the news update "Charlie Dooley Accused of Pressuring Employees to Donate to Campaign Fund."
After MOPNS made fun of him, he tried to take it down off of his web site.
It didn't work out so hot.
The page is now the #2 term on Google for the search "Charlie Dooley".
