... but we wonder if Russ Carnahan wasn't awarded Chairmanship of a Foreign Affairs subcommittee in connection with his pending decision to either run in Akin's district or run against Clay. A small bribe not to run against Clay perhaps? Drebes notes that DC democrats have a clear position on avoiding a confrontation with Clay, as opposed to Carnahan's St. Louis allies who are slightly more interested in seeing him actually get elected.
