Over 72% of Sly James' $59,745 cable buys for the month of February will be spent north of the river, with only 27% going to the bulk of KC. It's an interesting (read: highly questionable) strategy, and we wonder what process created that decision. But then again; James' committe hasn't exactly been smart with its money... reviewing his campaign finance reports makes it look like he has a little bit of a problem with overhead and consultants feeding at the trough. His fundraising definitely has a duller edge than it would if he was running a lean campaign. In a wide primary field there's not a lot of room for waste.
It does seem as if the Northland vote will be really crowded, with Hermann and Burke being Northland candidates, and Funkhouser did very well up North 4 years ago. Seems to me like the deciding factor will be who wins south of the river.
