Carnahan has spent the last several days hiding from Dave Catanese of Politico, refusing to comment on a story about Proposition C's passage and its implications for her campaign. For the record, she supports Obamacare.
Catanese writes:
While Washington is obsessing over what the results of Missouri’s anti-health care reform ballot initiative mean for President Barack Obama, the state’s political insiders are debating whether it’s Democratic Senate nominee Robin Carnahan who needs to be worried.
A staggering 71 percent of Show-Me state primary voters cast ballots Tuesday opposing the new federal health care law — a symbolic yet resounding message that places Carnahan on the opposite side of a supermajority of the electorate.
Roy Temple, no doubt inspired by our blog post predicting the stupidest possible defense for Carnahan's primary performance, responded that Blunt should be worried because he only got 71% of the vote in a nine candidate field. Apparently our best efforts to stop him from tripping over his own tongue were insufficient.
We wonder how much Proposition C will factor into the DSCC's decision-making process: Alexander Bolton from the Hill identifies Robin Carnahan as one candidate the DSCC may want to withdraw support from.
