Tommy Sowers' campaign has seriously stepped up its use of the Internet with the creation of "viral landing pages" that are "covered with social media sharing buttons". Pretty heavy stuff. Our crack team of political scientists investigated, and discovered they were just links to news articles about him with (surprise!) positive quotes about himself he managed to get into the articles. It smacks of narcissism and general cluelessness of the internet.
He might as well instruct people to print them out and stab ineffectually at the "social media links" with their fingers. To celebrate the occasion, we visited the same links he posted and decided to pull some quotes that didn't come straight from Sowers' mouth. To spare the sanity of our viewers we didn't include any social media buttons.
I'm sorry, but I think the Sowers campaign is using the Obama strategy of dominating the internet quite well. As I review blogs and online newspapers, there are always ads for Tommy's website.
Jo Ann Emerson, not so much.
And the beat goes on.....
