Here at The Source we understand that when it comes to news articles that some things should not be included. That being said, why is The Source doing more investigating than the St. Joseph News-Press on issues in their own city?
Recently the St. Joseph News-Press released an article titled: Police not focused on gambling in investigation of poker game robbery. What amazes us here at The Source is the lack of investigation on behalf of the St. Joseph News-Press.
First off, why did it take two and a half weeks to write an article on this incident? Citizens of St. Joseph were forced to the ground at gunpoint and had their valuable possessions taken from them! How is this not front-page news the minute they hear about this?
Second, how come we didn’t see any comments taken from the victims? The News-Press didn’t even give us a “no comment” or a “Couldn’t be reached for comment”. The only comments they gave us were from the police spokesman, which were likely filtered and made into politically correct statements.
Third, why did the News-Press decided to shut off their comments section on the online blog? It seems to us that the News-Press doesn’t really want anyone raising questions on this issue.
At a time in history where news agencies are closing daily news outlets due to a lack of subscribers the St. Joseph News-Press has a golden story laid right in front of them and they decide to pass it on with the least amount of effort in investigating the story.
Also here at The Source we believe that this has probable connections to the rumors we heard about Sheriff Mike Strong’s involvement in an underground gambling ring. Our tipster in the Strong case informed us that the game was for $60,000, also adding that Sheriff Strong’s department issued revolver was taken.
To this day the whereabouts of Sheriff Strong’s department issued revolver are unclear, and not to our surprise the St. Joseph News-Press hasn’t ran anything on this lead. Don’t worry about us though, we are investigating this incident; today we’re getting the police report and asking about the smoking gun.
Sheriff Strong producing all registered firearms for verification of serial numbers would go a long way to dispelling the rumors about his attendance and what would then be a cover-up of that presence by the SJPD.
