The race for Missouri’s 44th District seat has turned out to be one of the most hotly contested seats in the state. There are two main candidates, lobbyist Amy Coffman and Jason Kander who is an attorney and Army Intelligence officer.
The race seems to be a dead heat. The Kansas City Star has endorsed both candidates saying that they would both make excellent representatives. They may be the only ones in Kansas City not taking a side.
This has been the most divisive local Democratic primary in recent history. Over the past few months supporters of the two candidates have gone into cyber space and viscously attacked the other’s campaign. The blog Gone Mild, which has endorsed, Kander attacked Coffman’s campaign website calling her website and her campaign a “sloppy disappointing waste of time!” They said her stances on the issues are “pathetic and unclear.” Meanwhile comments on that blog and others in support of Coffman have degraded Kander’s military serves by suggesting that being an intelligence officer meant that Kander was part of a “psyop special operations team” that did nothing more than kidnap and torture innocent civilians in Afghanistan.
Political endorsements have been flying as well. Kander has garnered the majority of endorsements, including most of the local unions. Coffman has the support of State Senator Jolie Justus. Justus, a freshman Senator, is sticking her neck out here in what is sure to be a test of her newfound political power.
While The Source does not know either of the candidates, we do know Diana Kander. She is a solid professional, sharp, focused and politically savvy. The Source is amazed at the slanderous and degrading e-mails that we have received regarding Diana. Spouses should be off limits and not drug through the mud.
Our prediction is that, armed with political know how, Jason Kander will win on Tuesday.
Obviously, the Kanders have you fooled. Give it time and they will eat you alive like they have so many other people that once thought they were friends. Diane is anything BUT professional. She is a very strange bird indeed and should probably be taking bi-polar meds. Poor deceived soul. The saying goes that when the cats away the mice will play...

Don't know much about either candidate but do know about the military and if he is in the Army Reserve or National Guard the only units in the KC area that deal with Military Intelligence are Psyop units. Psyop units would interrogate the captured as well as drop leaflets and candy to the civilians.
